The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. ** Description of Work
** This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, NC (Craven County). The facility is an adult male felon reception and diagnostic processing center which houses 850 offenders and employs 360 staff.

/Management Preferences**## Salary Grade Range: $39,671.00 - $69,426.00
This position is responsible for coordinating the transfer/movement of offenders in/out of the diagnostic processing facility. They are responsible for scheduling offenders for transfer on the regular transfer schedule as well as all special transfer schedules. Additional responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting with parole releases and data entry into the OPUS records system. They also monitor offender files for accuracy;
maintain records of all offenders housed at the facility daily; assemble and verify commitments and writs within the system; maintain daily count reports and the transfer in/out records; and prepare required documents for offender transfers/releases. This position communicates regularly with DAC Population Management to ensure the efficient transfer of offenders and tracking all offender movement as well as the NC Court Systems in scheduling offenders for transportation to outside court appearances and appointments.

Documented knowledge in computer skills using Microsoft Office
