Legal Advisor

A Legal Advisor (Executive Level) shall provide legal advisory support to either the Host Nation, Regional Organization, or International Organization leadership, as specified by the Task Order, with an emphasis in one or more specialized disciplines to be specified at the Task Order-level. The Legal Advisor (Executive Level) shall assist senior leaders of the specified Host Nation/Regional or International Organization in accomplishing their objectives related to the specified specialized discipline.

The Legal Advisor (Executive Level) shall accomplish this by providing expert-level legal advice, analysis, and recommended courses of action to the Host Nation/Regional or International Organization senior leaders.

• Provide legal advisory support to Host Nation, Regional, or International Organization personnel.
• Advise on legal frameworks, policy development, governance, and institutional processes.
• Draft, review, and analyze legislation, agreements, or legal frameworks.
• Recommend legal courses of action aligned with host nation objectives.
• Support legal reform and justice sector development in specialized disciplines.
• Engage with local and U.S. government stakeholders to ensure mission alignment.
• Help build sustainable legal capacity within partner organizations.

• 6 Years of Experience
• Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent
• Achieved the rank of O‑5 in the military, or GS‑14 in the federal government, or equivalent rank in the private sector
• 10+ Years of experience
• TS/TCI Clearance
• Experience with DOS
• Experience practicing law internationally or advising foreign governments.
• Experience living and/or working overseas.
• Experience engaging with senior government or military officials
• Knowledge of international, constitutional, civil, or criminal legal systems.
