DIETARY COOK

Dietary Cook: (full-time/Del Norte)

Cook position is to ensure that patient meals are properly prepared/cooked and apportioned according to authorized/standardized menus in a timely manner. Prepares meals for employees and guests. This position ensures that all meals are prepared in a sanitized environment and in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines and regulations. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Serv Safe Certification (which we will provide, if you don’t have). Serv Safe is a online course to help you learn the correct way to handle food preparation. Learn basic food safety practices for preparing and serving food. Rio Grande Hospital will help you earn your food handler certificate from the food service experts!

Education:

High School Diploma

Wage range: $15.00 – $17.00 / hour

Preferably commercial or institutional food service experience of at least two years.

Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to cook duties and to understand general Dietary and practice; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures; must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language; must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle various situations with good judgment;

must be able to work as a team member; must be willing to learn.
