CNC Machinist II will operate and perform simple setups on CNC equipment (i.e., Mills, Lathes, Swiss, EDM, Mill/Turn) to manufacture medical components from raw materials.
Responsibilities- Sets up machines to run correctly and consistently.
- Operates at least 2 machines effectively.
- Solve machining issues common in a machining environment.
- Inspect product per the inspection plans. Deburr parts, if needed.
- Participate in ongoing process improvements.
- Report any non‑conforming parts to Supervisor.
- Closely monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance features, make any necessary adjustments.
- Maintain machining area for cleanliness and minor preventive maintenance (i.e., Coolant levels).
- Record production through Job Boss system.
- Check to ensure all documentation (routers, inspection sheets, scrap tickets, etc.) is filled in correctly and completely following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Take pride in your workmanship and make it your goal to produce a quality product every time.
- Support the EMS Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) plus Machining Certification with 3+ years of CNC experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid knowledge of machining techniques on the equipment assigned.
- Be familiar with material types and general properties of materials related to assignments.
- Must have a working knowledge of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, comparators, and indicators.
- Able to read and interpret blueprint drawings and features.
- Be able to read and understand the Router.
- Understand the Data Collection System.
- Have an understanding of relevant Safety requirements.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
- Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
- Able to stand the majority of the shift to perform duties.
