$27.00/hr - $31.00/hr

Qualifications: A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, current registration with State Board of Examiners, current Health Card. Experience in geriatrics is helpful, but an interest in Geriatric Nursing is essential.

Responsibilities: Dispensing medications and treatments as ordered by the physician of record, noting correct dosage, strength, labeling, and supply adequacy. Maintaining accurate records of medications and treatments. Making notes on patient conditions in nurse’s notes. Assigning and supervising patient care, instructing staff as needed. Ensuring a clean, safe environment, including orientation to fire and emergency plans.

Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of general nursing theory and practice, including drugs, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences. Ability to instruct auxiliary personnel, demonstrate patient care techniques, and understand organizational policies.

Physical Demands: Good physical and mental health, dexterity, visual and auditory acuity to monitor patient conditions.

Special Demands: Tact in dealing with geriatric patients and families, ability to inform doctors of patient conditions, attention to detail, initiative, judgment, and good teamwork skills.

Working Environment: Well-lit, ventilated rooms, potential exposure to communicable diseases, minor injuries from instruments, strains from patient handling.

Supervision: Reports to Nurse Administrator.

Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification required. LPN or LVN preferred. Ability to relocate to Bartlett, TN before starting work.
