Trainee Class 2 Driver

Driver Mate (Temp‑to‑Perm | Full‑Time | Early Starts 4am – 6am)

Location: Barton‑Upon‑Humber

Pay: £12.40 per hour (rising to £16.00 per hour)

Job Summary: Start as a Drivers Mate in a two‑person crew, delivering goods to customers’ homes. You will receive full training, including a funded Driver CPC and Class 2 licence, and have the opportunity to progress to a fully qualified Class 2 Driver.

About the Role – Responsibilities

• Assist with heavy, physical lifting and deliver items to the room of choice
• Make customer phone calls with delivery ETAs and log deliveries
• Ensure all items are scanned and accounted for
• Support the driver and learn the daily routine of a Class 2 role
• Report any parking/access issues to the transport team
• Maintain high standards of safety, timekeeping, and customer service
• Shifts start between 4am and 6am, with up to 10–12 hour shifts (averaging 48 hours per week)
• Own transport required to reach the site

What You’ll Need

• A can‑do attitude, great communication, and willingness to learn
• Physically fit – this is a demanding, hands‑on job
• Maximum of 6 points on your licence (no DD, CU80, or IN)
• A DBS check will be required before starting
