Position
Description:
Certified Surgical Technologist
- The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
- Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
- Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
- Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
- May assist in patient transport.

- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
- Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up
- Interpersonal skills
