Class A Maintenance Mechanic pay: $38.50/hr.
Class B Maintenance Mechanic pay: $33.72/hr.
- Troubleshoot and repair as well as perform preventative maintenance (PM) of plant or mine equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer/Mosaic’s standards.
- Use hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic/electric tools and precision measuring tools to make repairs or replace equipment such as pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, fabrication, conveyors, large rotating equipment, draglines and dredges.
- Perform Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Pre Job Hazard Analysis, Lock‑out Tag‑out (LOTO), Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Water Safety, Line Breaking, Safe Work, Daily PM Inspection, Work Order Feedback, General Equipment/Line Isolation Permits or procedures or forms or reports.
- Actively participate in Pre Job Safety Meetings, Weekly Safety Meetings and other required Annual Training.
- Actively participate in Work Flow by giving feedback on work execution roadblocks and successes.
- Input work requests into the Company Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a result of work execution or identified defects.
- Repair machinery and equipment in accordance with established job plans.
- Diagnose machinery and equipment issues and perform repairs on an emergency or “break‑in” basis.
- Lubricate and perform PMs on equipment and machinery.
- Use hand signals with crane operators, rigging for lifts, examine disassembled parts and diagnose root‑cause failures.
- Operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, large forklifts, aerial man lifts, and other mobile equipment as required.
- Be vigilant of issues that may impact the safety of employees and report any environmental or safety concerns.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred;
Associate’s Degree in Vocational, Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist, or Welding training program preferred. - 4 years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited Apprenticeship program required.
- Phosphate industry experience preferred.
- May be required to obtain a commercial driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work alone, with a partner, or in a team setting.
- Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures.
- Capable of data entry.
- Must be able to train and operate mobile equipment including boom truck, aerial man lift, and forklift.
- Physical abilities: move safely in and around work areas, climb stairs, maintain good balance, be mentally alert, have good visual acuity, work at heights, operate in a heavy industrial environment, and handle concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles.
- Complete pre‑job workplace examinations.
- Responsible for safe and compliant storage/inspection/usage of tools and equipment.
- Physical work environment frequently outdoors, exposed to temperatures ranging from below 32°F to above 85°F.
- Physical demands include lifting 25–50 lbs. unassisted regularly, climbing stairs, working at heights, using fine hand motor skills, wearing a respirator, working in tight spaces, and rotating shifts with overtime.
