Salary: $23.71 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential

• Operate traveling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials using hoisting attachments (hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket), observing load hookup and determining safety.
• Manipulate crane controls (pedals, levers, buttons) to regulate speed and direction according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
• Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanisms.
• Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
• Attach load to hook or other accessory prior to operating crane (may be designated Crane Operator‑Hooker or Crane Operator‑Hooktender).
• Inspect crane daily for safety issues.
• Participate in department safety and demonstrate excellent safety practices that conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

• Work in extreme temperatures with exposure to chemicals and irritating particulates.

• High school diploma highly desirable but not required.
• One year of general labor experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or willingness to learn.
• Three or more years of previous experience operating overhead cranes preferable.
• Acceptance of responsibility and accountability for actions.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to chemicals and irritating particulates.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.

Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, oil, and power industrial vehicles. Tasks include balancing, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, crawling, crouching, climbing ladders, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motions, squatting, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Work both indoors and outdoors in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/air conditions.
