Maintenance Specialist - Facilities

Overview

Performs intermediate skilled work on a variety of construction, maintenance and repair projects. Operates specialized equipment in connection with task. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

• Responsible for performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure the proper functioning and safety of a facility.
• Performs minor repairs like painting, drywall patching, and fixing doors while identifying issues requiring specialized technicians when necessary.
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, including repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building and infrastructure systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities and amenities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Be familiar with safety protocols and regulations to avoid hazards and injuries.

High school diploma or equivalent; entry level position, no experience required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies necessary for the position.

• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess an aptitude and willingness to learn.
• On-the-job training is offered.
