University of Basel invites applications for a PhD or postdoctoral position focused on Large Language Models (LLMs), including pre-training and post-training. The successful candidate will design and run large-scale experiments, develop fine-tuning and RL approaches, and study generalisation across tasks and reasoning domains.
Position available starting around October 2026. PhD is funded for four years; postdoctoral position initial two years with possible extension up to four years.
