Job Description & How to Apply Below

Contract | 12 months | Onsite (100%)

ENG Bauen is supporting a major aerospace engineering programme as part of our European project delivery and on-site technical support capability. Due to continued workload across aircraft modification and upgrade activities, we are now looking for an experienced Fuselage Design Engineer to join a long-term, on-site assignment within a high-spec, OEM-level engineering environment.

As part of our European project support model, this role will place you directly within a Tier-1 aerospace engineering organisation, working on complex fuselage structure modifications across commercial and business aircraft platforms. The programme demands engineers who can operate at depth balancing structural integrity, certification compliance, and practical design execution.

You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, using NX and/or CATIA V5 to deliver 3D and 2D fuselage design solutions aligned with EASA and FAA certification standards. This is a hands-on design role with clear ownership, technical autonomy, and direct impact on aircraft modification outcomes.

The Role
  • 3D and 2D CAD modelling of primary structures including skins, frames, stringers, bulkheads, longerons, and splices
  • Design of cut-outs, reinforcements, attachments, and interfaces for doors, windows, avionics, and systems
  • Preparation of detailed drawings, layouts, and BOMs
  • Integration with systems, interiors, and avionics teams (ducting, wiring, panels)
  • Support change management, engineering concessions, and design updates
  • Provide engineering input for damage repairs, fleet issues, and service bulletins
  • Ensure compliance with EASA CS-25 / FAA FAR-25 airworthiness requirements
The Person
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years’ experience in aircraft fuselage structure design
  • Strong proficiency in NX (preferred) and Teamcenter; CATIA V5 also acceptable
  • Experience with metallic and composite aircraft structures
  • Solid understanding of damage tolerance, fatigue, corrosion, flammability, and crash worthiness
  • Knowledge of fastening, bonding, riveting, welding, and structural joints
  • Aircraft programme exposure such as A320, A330, A350, B737, B787, G650/G700
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience working within formal change management and PLM/PDM environments

Please apply or submit your CV directly via the ENG Bauen website and one of our team members will be in touch.
