Electrical Design Engineer

Contract: 12 months

ENG Bauen are supporting a strategic aerospace engineering programme across Europe and are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a new on-site team focused on advanced aircraft systems for commercial and business aircraft platforms.

In this role, you will be fully embedded within the client engineering team, taking end-to-end ownership of electrical component and system design. You will create, review, and validate schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings, ensuring strict adherence to aircraft certification standards. All IT equipment and design tools will be provided by the client, enabling you to focus fully on delivering high-quality design solutions.

• Design and develop electrical systems, avionics cabinets, and associated components.
• Create and review detailed AutoCAD schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Design electrical brackets, harness attachments, and routing for installation using CAD tools.
• Ensure compliance with DO-160, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, avionics, and interiors, to integrate electrical systems.
• Produce and maintain design documentation, BOMs, and interface control documents.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues related to electrical components.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in aircraft electrical design, harness, or component development.
• Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD, essential.
• Experience with CATIA V5 Electrical Harness module is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of aircraft wiring, cabling, connectors, and associated hardware.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams across multiple geographies.
• Knowledge of interior cabin layouts, zonal plans, and aircraft system interfaces.
