Process Automation Engineer

Inova Consulting is a Switzerland-based engineering and data consulting firm supporting leading pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturers with project execution, digitalization, and operational excellence.

For a major client project in Basel, we are looking for a:

You will act as the technical bridge between process engineering and automation, ensuring that automation strategies fully reflect process intent and GMP requirements — from design through commissioning and qualification.

• Translate process requirements into robust automation concepts and control strategies
• Develop and configure DCS solutions (Siemens PCS7 and/or Emerson Delta
  
  V)
• Define control loops, modules, sequences, and alarm strategies
• Review P&IDs, 3D models, and skid documentation to ensure automation readiness
• Develop recipe structures and functional diagrams (CIP/SIP & production processes)
• Ensure MES integration and recipe-based control alignment
• Lead and support FAT, SAT, OQ testing activities
• Support commissioning, start-up, and qualification phases
• Collaborate cross-functionally with MSAT, Manufacturing, Engineering, and CQV teams

• Degree in Automation, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• Strong experience in GMP-regulated environments
• Hands‑on experience with Siemens PCS7 and/or Emerson DeltaV
• Solid understanding of process control principles and instrumentation
• Experience with batch control strategies and recipe-based automation
• Ability to interface between process, automation, and project stakeholders
• Structured, analytical mindset with strong communication skills
