** Role Overview****:
** Huntsman is seeking an Engineer in Measurement Technology / Electrical & Physical Testing of Plastics to join our Technology Center in Basel, within the Advanced Materials division. This local function is part of the Technology Europe Product Development Group and reports to the Testing Team & Technology Manager.

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a wide range of R&D and commercial projects, acting as the testing expert for both electrical and physical testing of plastics. You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative testing methods and standards, ensuring accurate and timely results that align with our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Our team is dedicated to driving innovation, transforming new ideas into practical solutions that meet evolving market needs. We support the entire product development journey—from early-stage concept and specimen preparation, through rigorous testing and analysis, to successful market introduction.
** Role Responsibilities****:
**** As an Engineer Measurement Technology, you will:
*** Test of plastics in mainly electrical but also physical testing areas accurate and on time
* Support associates (Technology, Marketing, etc.) and other Huntsman sites in projects related to R&D and commercial products/samples as testing expert
* Prepare specimens to be tested with mechanical manufacturing processes (diamond saw, etc.)
* Develop innovative testing methods
* Implement new testing standards (IEC, ISO, etc.)
* Assist of trainees with technical guidance
* Ensure Accurate documentation of test results according to our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation using common software as MS Office
* Test administration with our laboratory information management system (LIMS)
* Ensuring full compliance with safety, health and environmental guidelines according to site and company standards (active participation to safety meetings and periodic safety improvement plans).

Competencies:

**** We are looking for experienced candidates with initiative, able to build relationship and having a solution-focused approach.
**** What we are looking for:
*** A bachelor’s or master’s degree (at least Techniker-Schule, Höhere Fachschule, BUT, etc.) in electrical and/or electrotechnical domains:
Electrical engineering and industrial computing, High-frequency metrology, etc.
* Minimum about 8-10 years’ experience in high‑frequency technical fields, complemented by solid knowledge of high‑voltage testing
* Fundamental knowledge on programming environment ensuring efficient measurement analysis and results (VEE, LabVIEW, Python, Excel Macro)
* Proven ability in Electrical qualification to carry out electrical testing
* Solid qualifications in manual work dealing with machine environment and their maintenance and repair as well as solid understanding in metrology and new technologies
* Fluent in English and German (written & verbal), other language an asset
