Production Process Engineer

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer/Plant Engineer to join their team at the Basel site. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who wants to work in a dynamic, high‑tech manufacturing environment, take ownership of challenging projects, and actively contribute to process optimization and operational excellence.

In this role, you will support existing and new biotechnological production facilities for commercial and clinical manufacturing. The process plants are highly automated and strongly interconnected with each other and with higher-level IT systems.

• Develop and implement process engineering solutions and optimizations in the Downstream and/or Upstream area
• Continuously optimize process plants and evaluate, review, and recommend new technologies
• Perform operations engineering to ensure continuous production availability
  , including flexible and agile response to equipment issues
• Take responsibility for timelines, costs, and achievement of project objectives
• Ensure compliance with cGMP requirements in capital investment projects and operational engineering
• Take ownership of optimizations, modifications, and technical support of complex chemical and biotechnological production facilities
• Deliver capital investment projects from initial definition through handover to operations
• Responsible for drug substance manufacturing
  , including batch processes and continuous manufacturing processes
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary project teams within a technical environment
• Perform troubleshooting activities

• University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a comparable role
• Experience in Downstream and/or Upstream processing
• Experience in the GMP and pharmaceutical environment
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements, biotechnological process plants, and package units
• Very good IT skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
• Fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken
• Positive, reliable, and self-reflective personality with strong team working skills
• Open to new ideas and willing to challenge conventional mindsets
• Strong communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to persuade and assert ideas
• Enjoys working independently and taking responsibility
