Overview
PM Group are looking for an experienced MEP Construction Manager to support the delivery of an important pharmaceutical construction project based in Switzerland. The role involves leading the coordination, and execution of MEP systems for pharmaceutical construction facilities, ensuring robust, efficient, and highly reliable technical solutions. You will act as a key interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth project delivery from design through commissioning and handover.
A strong focus is placed on technical excellence, system reliability, redundancy, and energy efficiency, as well as delivering projects in line with industry standards for high-availability environments.
- Lead and manage MEP delivery activities across life science construction projects
- Oversee the full project lifecycle from concept development, detailed design, execution, commissioning, and handover
- Develop and coordinate technical solutions for electrical and mechanical building services systems
- Manage electrical power systems
- Oversee design and delivery of cooling and HVAC systems,
- Support advanced cooling strategies such as liquid cooling concepts, rear-door heat exchangers, and hot/cold aisle containment
- Ensure system redundancy, resilience, and fault-tolera
- implemented across all projects
- Manage building automation and monitoring systems, including BMS, DCIM, and SCADA integration
- Lead and support commissioning activities (Level 1–5), integrated systems testing (IST), factory and site acceptance testing, and load testing
- Coordinate with commissioning specialists, contractors, and technical teams to ensure full system validation and performance
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and guidelines, including Uptime Institute Tier standards and ISO standards
- Manage project cost, schedule, quality, and risk, ensuring timely delivery and issue resolution
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, contractors, and client representatives
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across all project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Industrial, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in MEP project management or engineering within pharma/life science construction projects
- Strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical building services systems
- Solid understanding of HVAC and cooling systems
- Familiarity with building management and monitoring systems
- Experience working in multi-stakeholder, complex project environments
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
