** Investment Director, Healthcare Venture – Roche Venture Fund
** Roche Venture Fund invites applications for an Investment Director, Healthcare Venture, offering a significant opportunity to shape the future of healthcare innovation. This role provides a platform to identify, evaluate, and invest in groundbreaking early-stage companies poised to transform patient care. Operating within a leading corporate venture capital fund, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding a high-impact portfolio, leveraging Roche's extensive domain expertise and global network.
Roche Venture Fund is the corporate venture capital arm of
F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG, a global pioneer in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Our mission is to invest in innovative private companies that are strategically relevant to Roche's core businesses, yet operate independently. We focus on areas of high unmet medical need, including novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and digital health solutions. As an evergreen fund, we are committed to long-term value creation, supporting entrepreneurs with capital, strategic guidance, and access to a world-class scientific and and commercial ecosystem.
The Investment Director will be responsible for the full investment lifecycle within the healthcare venture capital domain. This includes proactively sourcing new investment opportunities through an extensive industry network and deep market research. A core function will involve leading comprehensive due diligence processes, encompassing scientific, clinical, technical, financial, and commercial assessments. The role requires structuring and negotiating complex investment terms, presenting recommendations to the investment committee, and executing transactions.
Post-investment, the Director will actively manage portfolio companies, providing strategic oversight, supporting operational development, and preparing for successful exits. Collaboration with Roche's R&D and business development teams will be integral to identifying strategic alignment and fostering value creation.
Candidates should possess a robust background in venture capital or private equity, with a demonstrated track record of successful investments in the life sciences or healthcare technology sectors. A deep understanding of early-stage company dynamics, along with a strong scientific or medical foundation, is essential. The ideal professional will combine rigorous analytical capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with founders, co-investors, and internal stakeholders.
This position is based at Roche Venture Fund's headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, a vibrant hub for life sciences innovation. Compensation will be competitive, reflecting the significance of the role and the candidate's experience and contributions.
