Clinical Data Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Data Lead to join our team in Basel, to oversee clinical data management for ongoing and upcoming trials. You will take responsibility for data management strategy, execution and delivery — from database build to final database lock — ensuring data quality, compliance and timely delivery to internal / external stakeholders.

• Lead end‑to‑end data management for assigned clinical trials (study start‑up, database build, data cleaning & validation, query management, database lock).
• Act as the main point of contact for data management deliverables sponsor / CRO / internal stakeholders.
• Develop, review and maintain data management documentation — e.g., Data Management Plans (DMPs), CRF specifications, data validation specifications, user access rights, SOPs / work instructions, oversight and QC procedures.
• Oversee, mentor or coordinate junior data team members / contractors as needed, supporting quality delivery and adherence to timelines.
• Ensure data management processes comply with applicable clinical trial regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and audit / inspection readiness requirements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally (clinical operations, biostatistics, regulatory, safety, laboratories) to support trial execution, data flow, integration and final deliverables.

• Several years of experience (e.g., 5+ years) in clinical data management / clinical research, ideally including data lead or senior data manager roles (sponsor, CRO, or biotech)
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial data lifecycle, EDC systems CRF design, data validation / cleaning, database lock, data QC and documentation.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and GCP compliance; ability to maintain audit‑ready data deliverables.
