Recruiting for a Scientific Digital Product Lead to advance the Assay Workflows domain within Roche’s Computational Sciences Center of Excellence.
Position OverviewThe Product Lead will report to the Domain Head of Assay Workflows in the Data and Digital Catalysts (DDC) department. This role focuses on transforming complex scientific needs into actionable roadmaps, guiding cross‑functional teams and ensuring the development of innovative, best‑in‑class products and platforms.
Responsibilities- Develop and refine the product family strategy for Assay Workflows, aligning with strategic initiatives.
- Prioritize stakeholder needs (“why”), the product features (“what”) and delivery timelines (“when”), and translate them into concrete roadmaps.
- Collaborate with DDC capability, technical, engineering and data teams to shape the implementation strategy (“how”) and resource allocation (“who”).
- Ensure the seamless integration of applications and platforms into Roche’s digital ecosystem, while supporting the consolidation and deprecation of legacy systems to reduce technical debt.
- Guide and enable the development of assay data workflows that incorporate scalable automation, modular concepts and AI‑driven analytics, accelerating high‑quality insights from preclinical data.
- Conduct business analysis, manage budgets, and oversee external workforce contributions, while keeping projects on schedule and within scope.
- Advocate for future‑facing solutions, anticipate emerging technologies and incorporate them into strategic roadmaps.
- Build and sustain trusted internal and external partnerships, fostering effective teamwork across a global organization.
- Span multiple domains and contribute beyond the core area of expertise when necessary.
- Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in life sciences, computer sciences, or related fields.
- 6+ years of experience bridging drug discovery and digital innovation.
- Deep technical knowledge of preclinical assays, laboratory automation and orchestration, with proficiency in Python and AI/ML development.
- Proven ability to balance long‑term platform vision with operational excellence, navigating high ambiguity to deliver measurable scientific outcomes.
- Experience leading large‑scale projects and translating complex digital strategies into actionable plans for diverse stakeholders across Pharma R&D.
- Forward‑thinking, agile approach to integrating cutting‑edge technologies into assay workflows, promoting continuous improvement.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
