La position

Global Workplace and Real Estate is a vital enabling function responsible for shaping and managing the environments where our 50,000+ colleagues do their best work. Our team’s purpose is to help Roche make confident, future-ready decisions about space, investment, and workplace experience — balancing business performance, sustainability, and people needs. As an intern at Global Workplace & Real Estate, you will gain a full view of our global function.

You will support both horizontal roles and our core capabilities (Real Estate Management, Office Workplace Strategy, and Fit-Out & Program Management) contributing to data preparation, reporting, coordination, and day-to-day activities across the entire function.

The opportunity

We are looking for an ambitious personality, who will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Collect and consolidate data from a variety of sources (inc. internal systems, other teams at Roche) to ensure relevant information is available to the team

  • Perform data audits and cleansing to improve the quality of the team’s different databases (e.g., global portfolio asset database), ensuring they are consistent and accurate

  • Analyse data (e.g., owned and leased asset data, workplace quantitative and qualitative data, fit-out cost benchmarking data) to identify key trends and gaps for further review

  • Visualise meaningful conclusions from data analysis by creating summaries, tables, and presentation slides based on prepared data

  • Assist with subteam-specific recurring reporting needs (e.g., lease administration reports) as well as team-wide reporting needs such as performance (KPIs) reports for periodic reviews

  • Support the administration of team’s internal systems (e.g., user management in portfolio asset database and project management platform) and assist in updating and maintaining analytical solutions and visualisations (e.g., dashboards)

  • Coordinate internal team meetings (incl. helping prepare agendas, collect discussion topics), and maintain the team’s website, which includes collaborating with team members to source and draft project stories for publishing

  • Act as a connective tissue between sub-teams, helping share best practices, align data standards, and coordinate joint initiatives

Who you are

For this position you bring the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management, Real Estate, Facility Management, Data Analytics or related field of work (or recently graduated within the past 12 months)

  • Comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment and switching between different topics and teams

  • Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working, with the ability to help organise and make sense of different types of information

  • Experience with data handling or analytics (e.g., via coursework, internships, or project work)

  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus, but not a requirement

  • Confident in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with coding (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Google Apps Script) and/or data visualisation (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a strong plus

Additional Information
  • This internship is based in Basel, Switzerland, and work will be conducted on-site.

  • The position is scheduled to start in August or September with a duration of 12 months.

  • This is a full-time opportunity; part-time arrangements are not possible.

  • Writing a thesis during this internship is permitted
