We are seeking a senior-tier Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize our enterprise-wide data platform. In this role, you will be responsible for breaking down operational data silos and constructing scalable, low-latency ETL/ELT pipelines.

Your mission is to establish a unified data architecture that delivers clean, highly structured, and reliable data streams for downstream business intelligence, advanced analytics, and AI initiatives.

Strategic Scope

Architects, deploys, and operates end-to-end automated data ingestion channels, distributed big data pipelines, enterprise analytics platforms, and central repository frameworks.

Core Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Ingestion Architecture:
Analyze raw structured and unstructured source data formats to construct resilient automated ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time streaming ingestion jobs.
  • Analytical Platform Scaling:
Design, scale, and optimize scalable corporate Data Lakes, centralized Enterprise Data Warehouses, and modern Delta Lakehouse architectures.
  • Governance & Access Enforcements:
Enforce data classification standards, programmatic object masking, multi-level role-based access control (RBAC), and automated data quality validation gates.

  • Automation Pipeline Infrastructure:
Provision and manage isolated environments using code-driven versioning templates, integrating automated monitoring and security scanning for data flows.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration, database engineering, or enterprise database architecture.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server platform sizing, deployment modelling, resource planning, memory configuration, storage design and performance-oriented database setup.
  • Good knowledge of data modelling, schema design, indexing strategies, constraints, data types, partitioning and relational database design principles.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining high‑availability and disaster recovery solutions, including failover, mirroring, replication, backup/restore strategies and DR runbooks.
  • Strong performance tuning experience, including execution plan analysis, stored procedure optimisation, deadlock resolution, nested view tuning and complex query optimisation.
  • Experience planning and executing database migrations, version upgrades, schema changes, patch deployments and production releases with minimal downtime.
  • Ability to advise software development teams on database design, query performance, data integrity and scalable application‑database interaction patterns.
  • Good understanding of database security, access control, operational monitoring, incident troubleshooting and enterprise change management practices.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a distributed project team.
  • Languages:

Flawless bilingual/native-level business German communications proficiency (C1/C2 level written and spoken) is required. The candidate must present seamlessly in German during the technical panel interview.
  • Swiss Compliance:
Must hold EU/EFTA nationality or possess an active, valid Swiss permanent residency/work card (C Permit or unrestricted B/G Permit).
