Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Microsoft Azure Engineer to support a long‑term enterprise project in Basel. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in designing, configuring and maintaining secure, scalable and highly available Microsoft Azure cloud environments. They should be comfortable working across infrastructure automation, cloud networking, monitoring, identity, application hosting and enterprise incident management.
Core Responsibilities- Design, map, configure and maintain secure distributed multi‑tier computing topographies within Microsoft Azure cloud tenants.
- Develop, test and maintain declarative infrastructure‑as‑code automation blocks (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Power Shell, Azure CLI).
- Build and tune proactive system health monitoring, alerts, log aggregation, and auto‑scaling/self‑healing loops.
- Author and validate detailed architectural schematics, network layout diagrams, security boundary specifications and disaster recovery blueprints.
- Lead complex diagnostic resolution and manage technical escalation paths with Microsoft enterprise product engineers during critical incidents.
- Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Microsoft Azure engineering, cloud infrastructure operations, or enterprise cloud architecture.
- Strong experience designing, configuring and maintaining secure, distributed, multi‑tier cloud environments in Microsoft Azure.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Microsoft Bicep, ARM templates, Power Shell scripts or Azure CLI.
- Good knowledge of Azure core services:
Web Apps, Storage, Virtual Networks, Express Route, Entra , Monitor and Log Analytics. - Experience building and tuning monitoring, alerting, log aggregation, dashboards, auto‑scaling and self‑healing mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of Azure security boundaries, network segmentation, access control, identity management and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams, network layouts, configuration guides, security specifications and DR blueprints.
- Experience troubleshooting complex Azure infrastructure issues and coordinating escalations with Microsoft or other vendors during critical incidents.
- Good understanding of enterprise cloud operations, change management, incident management, performance optimisation and service lifecycle practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed project team, collaborating with architects, developers, security engineers, operations teams and stakeholders.
- Flawless bilingual/native‑level business German communication proficiency (C1/C2 written and spoken). The candidate must speak German during the technical panel interview.
- Must hold EU/EFTA nationality or possess an active, valid Swiss permanent residency/work card (C Permit or unrestricted B/G Permit).
