OpenShift Container Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an Open Shift Container Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and continuously improve our Red Hat Open Shift environment. You will collaborate with infrastructure, development, and security teams to provide a reliable, secure, and scalable platform for containerised applications.

The scope of responsibilities will be aligned with your experience and strengths, with opportunities to contribute across platform engineering, automation, and operational excellence.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and upgrade Red Hat Open Shift clusters across relevant on-premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor platform health, availability, capacity, and performance, and troubleshoot infrastructure and application deployment issues.
• Automate platform provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Support CI/CD and Git Ops workflows in collaboration with application development teams.
• Implement and maintain platform security controls, including role-based access control, network policies, secrets management, and certificate management.
• Configure and support integrations with enterprise networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and logging services.
• Contribute to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including regular validation.
• Support application teams with onboarding, deployment standards, and effective use of platform capabilities.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and platform standards.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

• Practical experience with Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform or Kubernetes-based environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration, ideally with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Understanding of container technologies and container image management.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS, and network segmentation.
• Experience with scripting or automation using tools and languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Git and automated software delivery practices.
• Understanding of infrastructure security, access management, and operational reliability.
• A structured approach to troubleshooting and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Clear communication skills in English, including the ability to produce technical documentation.

• Experience with Open Shift Operators, cluster lifecycle management, and platform upgrades.
• Familiarity with Git Ops tools such as Argo CD or Red Hat Open Shift Git Ops.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible Automation Platform, or comparable automation tools.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and centralised logging platforms.
• Exposure to enterprise storage, persistent volumes, and backup and recovery solutions for Kubernetes.
• Experience operating container platforms in public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Relevant Red Hat or Kubernetes certifications are an advantage.
