Chief Scientific Officer – FormulytiX

Switzerland preferred | Europe considered | Early-stage / pre-funding

FormulytiX is an early-stage scientific intelligence platform being built to support formulation and drug product development across small molecules, biologics, vaccines and complex molecules.

We are now looking for a senior scientific leader to join the Founder & CEO in shaping and building FormulytiX from the ground up.

This is not a traditional CSO position in an established company. We are looking for someone who wants to help create the scientific strategy, product and company — and who is comfortable working hands-on in an early-stage environment.

You will work directly with the Founder & CEO to:

• Co-lead the scientific and product strategy for FormulytiX
• Help translate formulation and drug product development science into structured digital workflows, decision frameworks and product requirements
• Shape the scientific architecture, validation strategy and development roadmap
• Participate directly in discussions with university, research and industrial partners
• Help define and oversee scientific collaborations and validation programmes
• Co-lead fundraising activities, particularly scientific and technical discussions with investors
• Support investor due diligence and communicate the scientific and product rationale behind FormulytiX
• Work with AI, data and technology partners to translate scientific requirements into platform capabilities
• Help build the future scientific team as the company grows

We are particularly interested in candidates with significant experience in formulation science, pharmaceutics or drug product development
.

Strong candidates are likely to have experience in areas such as:

• Formulation development
• Drug product development
• Biologics and/or protein formulation
• Small-molecule formulation
• Vaccines or other complex therapeutic modalities
• Stability and develop ability
• Excipient selection and compatibility
• Comparability
• Drug delivery and device considerations
• Scale-up and pharmaceutical development
• CMC development

A PhD is strongly preferred in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Formulation Science, Biopharmaceutics, Drug Delivery, Protein Science or a closely related discipline.

Exceptional candidates with substantial relevant industrial experience will also be considered.

FormulytiX sits at the intersection of pharmaceutical science, structured development intelligence and AI.

We therefore value experience with:

• AI-enabled pharmaceutical R&D
• Machine learning applications in drug or formulation development
• Computational or in-silico approaches
• Predictive modelling
• Scientific data platforms
• Digital product development

Hands-on machine-learning development or coding experience is a plus, but not a requirement
.

We are looking first and foremost for an excellent pharmaceutical scientist who understands how AI can be applied responsibly and meaningfully to scientific development — not an AI specialist who happens to have an interest in formulation.

Beyond scientific credentials, we are looking for someone with:

• The confidence to challenge assumptions and help shape the scientific direction
• A genuine builder mentality
• High ownership, reliability and follow-through
• The ability to operate independently without requiring continuous direction
• Strong communication skills with scientists, technology teams, academic partners and investors
• An interest in building both the science and the company

Previous startup experience is welcome but not essential.

Candidates based in Switzerland are strongly preferred
, particularly given our planned collaborations, fundraising activities and scientific network in Switzerland.

Exceptional candidates elsewhere in Europe who are able to travel regularly to Switzerland will also be considered.

FormulytiX is currently in the pre-funding stage
.

During this phase, the role will be structured as an agreed part-time collaboration.

A competitive full-time salary is planned following successful fundraising.

Equity participation may be discussed based on experience, fit, contribution, commitment and the long-term role.

We are specifically looking for someone who wants to help build FormulytiX and participate in the journey towards funding
, rather than someone who wants to join only once the company is financed.
