Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Stem Cell Research

The Department of Biomedicine (DBM) is the largest department within the University of Basel and integrates basic and clinical researchers from the University of Basel and University Hospitals to deepen the understanding of health and disease while driving the development of innovative therapies that address unmet medical needs.
Responsibilities- Engage in research on cancer stem cells, especially SOX2 regulation.
- Isolate and characterize SOX2/ribosome complexes using density gradient centrifugation, ribosome profiling, affinity purification, RNA extraction, and library cloning.
- Collaborate with core facilities for HPLC/MS, RIBOseq, and cryo‑EM to extend the range of technologies.
- Publish research results and contribute to grant literature.
- PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, or an equivalent life‑science discipline.
- Strong background in protein and RNA biochemistry; previous research experience with ribosomes is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
- Solid research track with a strong motivation to succeed; a positive work attitude, reliability, and dedication are essential.
- Proficient command of English;
German helpful. - International career experience (internship, PhD, or postdoctoral assignment abroad) is preferred.
