Join Roche, where every voice matters.
A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.
That’s what makes us Roche.
In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary life-changing innovation at Roche.
In the Small Molecule Research department (SMR) in Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED), we generate molecular insights, and drive the discovery and development of small molecules from initial starting points to clinical candidates across the pRED discovery portfolio. In the Compound Library Enhancement and Logistics (CLEL) team, we supply research samples for all SMR portfolio projects and we are also the custodians of the Roche Corporate Compound Collection.
Our key focus is to streamline and enable efficient drug discovery project design cycles with the provisioning of a well-balanced chemical space and the timely delivery of research samples that can be subjected to biological assays.
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a lab-based researcher in the Compound Library Enhancement and Logistics (CLEL) team. The role is an essential element of the team’s mission: deliver small molecule samples to Roche research projects. More specifically, the mission for this role covers the processing (weighing, dissolution) of chemical powder samples using manual and automated workflows and to manage and fulfill research project team requests in a timely and accurate fashion.
ResponsibilitiesThis is a laboratory-based position, where on-time delivery of quality samples is key. Coordination with other team members is essential, as well as proactive stakeholder management.
Fulfill project requests with great accuracy and reproducibility by using multiple workflows involving triaging, storage, weigh out, shipping and/or dissolution of solid samples.
Ensure traceability and quality of the delivered samples by registering and tracking containers and samples in a Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS), which is used to record and track sample data along every processing step.
Manage multiple internal and external stakeholder interactions, for example between chemists producing samples and biologists using them in assays.
Ensure time-critical samples are delivered by taking ownership for the organization and prioritization of daily laboratory activities in order to fulfil stakeholder requests.
Contribute to the team expertise, connect and collaborate with others to optimize laboratory operation and automation for sample management workflows.
You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You are a professional with experience and training in modern research laboratories. As a dedicated individual, with good self-organization and attention to detail, you have the knowledge and ability to properly handle chemical compounds and execute workflows, following health & safety regulations and laboratory best practices. You are able to work independently on very accurate and repetitive tasks that require high quality and high consistency.
You are also able to handle and prioritize multiple threads of work under time constraints and to adapt your work depending on changes in daily…
