Overview
Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking for an experienced, energetic, and self‑motivated scientist to join our Bio Marker Group in Basel. Monte Rosa’s rational approach to targeting disease‑causing proteins for degradation will deliver pioneering therapies for Immunology & Inflammation (I&I), oncology and other disease areas. The candidate will conduct well‑designed and reliably executed experiments in the lab that are aimed at assessing preclinical, translational and clinical samples.
In addition, support to internal sample management team is expected. The scientistwill work in close collaboration with biomarker, project and clinical teams to develop biomarker assays, implement internal and external biomarker activities, and perform studies to support indication/patient selection opportunities.
- Independently design and execute experiments, interpret, present and report of assigned projects
- Development, validation and implementation of molecular and cellular‑based assays to support biomarker development and testing in translational research and clinical trials
- Ensure high quality biomarker data delivered timely for key decision taking
- Support team efforts in preparation and execution of biomarker plans
- Support identification and development of novel biomarker assays/platforms to support biomarker innovation
- Development of Best Practices, SOPS, process, templates, study plans, validation reports and other relevant documentation
- Maintain laboratory instruments, reagents, consumables, and other routine laboratory tasks
- Support internal sample management Team (minimum 20% of the time)
- BS/MS degree in Immunology or Cell Biology with wide experience as laboratory technician with 3+ years hands‑on experience in a pharmaceutical setting
- Prior experience in working with biomarker discovery, development and clinical implementation preferred
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in various platforms and technologies including but not limited to flow cytometry (proficiency required), ELISA, MSD
- Prior experience in working with human samples (blood, solid tissue)
- Ability to maintain timely and detailed notes using electronic lab notebook as well as demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and Graph Pad Prism
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn a variety of new techniques and biological approaches; ability to work in a matrixed team and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively to key stakeholders including internal and external partners
- Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP, GCLP) in support of clinical development projects preferred
