Position: In Vitro Bioanalysis Scientist

Position

We are looking for a technical expert within the ADME chapter of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS). The primary objective is to drive the discovery portfolio forward by providing high-quality, actionable in vitro bioanalytical data that informs drug candidate selection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mass Spectrometry & HPLC Operation:
    Independently develop and validate robust bioanalytical methods using HPLC and triple quad (Sciex) or high‑resolution (e.g., Orbitrap/Thermo) mass spectrometry.
  • Multi‑Modality Quantification:
    Lead the quantification and rigorous data analysis for a diverse portfolio including small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides.
  • Digital Transformation:
    Design and implement workflow automation and digitalisation initiatives to streamline laboratory data flow and experimental execution.
  • Strategic Throughput Optimization:
    Continuously evaluate and optimise the BA strategy to increase sample throughput and reduce manual data analysis time.
  • Large Molecule Support:
    Provide technical expertise for the quantification of large molecules as required by the pRED discovery pipeline.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Partner with the ADME team to interpret bioanalytical results and influence project progression.
  • Apply Roche Leadership Framework:
    Demonstrate a Creative Mindset and VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) principles in all interactions.
Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in bioanalysis, biochemistry or a related discipline, with practical experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ownership of the quality, accuracy and timely delivery of in‑vitro bioanalytical data supporting discovery projects.
  • Ability to permanently optimise laboratory processes and ensure they meet evolving quality and efficiency standards.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to act as primary technical point of contact for internal stakeholders.
  • Enterprise and entrepreneurial thinking to prioritise tasks and manage laboratory resources effectively within the ADME department.
