At Roche, we offer a unique opportunity for a hands‑on NMR Expert within our Analytical Molecular Characterization group in the pRED-pCMC Analytical Chemistry division. This role focuses on advanced NMR applications to support drug development across the value chain.
Responsibilities- Plan, run, and report NMR experiments for structure elucidation and inter‑ and intra‑molecular interaction studies.
- Apply cutting‑edge analytics to support synthesis and formulation development, enabling fast progress and identifying potential challenges.
- Develop and implement new NMR experiments and contribute to future advancements of the NMR group.
- Enhance scientific excellence by identifying relevant industry trends and building & maintaining academic partnerships.
- Contribute deep scientific insights to shape mid‑ and long‑term NMR strategy for the Roche portfolio.
- Guide the translation of strategic input into actionable team strategies in collaboration with the NMR group and Leadership Team.
- Foster trustful relationships and effective collaboration with internal discovery and technical development teams as well as external partners.
- Masters (minimum 5 years) or PhD in analytical chemistry or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years professional experience in industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NMR analytics and a deep understanding of the theoretical basis beyond standard liquid and solid‑state NMR experiments.
- Experience with other biophysical characterization methods is a plus.
- Hands‑on expertise in structure elucidation and interaction studies by NMR for synthetic oligonucleotides and/or peptides.
- Demonstrated expertise in higher‑order structure studies and aggregation studies.
- Open‑minded, highly proactive “just‑do‑it” approach; enjoys problem‑solving and developing new ways of working.
- Comfortable navigating multidisciplinary matrix teams.
