At Roche, we offer an internship in the Synthetic Molecule Analytical Development department (PTDC-A) within Global Technical Development (PTD). You will work with a team of more than 20 mass spectrometry experts to develop and validate modern LC‑MS/MS methods that support the safety and efficacy of synthetic molecule development products.
Responsibilities- Develop a modern LC‑MS/MS method for determining the enantiomeric purity (D/L ratio) of amino acids in synthetic peptides.
- Prepare samples, including peptide hydrolysis, and conduct precise LC‑MS/MS measurements.
- Interpret complex analytical mass spectrometry data and contribute to method validation.
- Collaborate with senior Roche scientists and cross‑functional teams to ensure methods meet quality and regulatory standards.
- Assist in bridging the gap between academic theory and industrial application within the drug development lifecycle.
- Recent Master’s graduate or student nearing completion of a Master’s degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, or a related field.
- Solid theoretical foundation and practical experience with analytical instrumentation, chromatographic separation techniques, and sample preparation.
- Curious, proactive, and hands‑on mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Business proficiency in English;
German knowledge is a plus. - Experience with LC‑MS analytics and familiarity with derivatization techniques or acid hydrolysis is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently while being a committed team player.
Start date:
upon agreement with the line manager. Applicants should submit a current CV and a motivation letter. EU/EFTA/Swiss citizens must provide proof of current enrollment or a Master’s degree obtained within the last 12 months. Non‑EU/EFTA citizens must provide proof of current enrollment and certify that the internship is mandatory for their studies.
