Management Accountant

A long established and highly respected manufacturing and distribution business based in Basildon is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team on a part-time basis.

Operating within both UK and international markets, the business supplies specialist medical products to public sector and private customers and offers a stable, collaborative SME environment.

This is a hands‑on position suited to a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and can operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Full month‑end processes including journals, accruals and reconciliations
• Cashflow forecasting and budgeting support
• Variance analysis with clear commercial commentary
• KPI reporting and financial analysis
• Margin, stock and inventory analysis
• Oversight of aged debt and working capital
• Supporting payroll, VAT and external audit requirements
• Identifying process improvements and cost‑saving opportunities

• Experienced in producing full management accounts independently
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Comfortable in a hands on, owner led SME environment
• Experience with in stock based, manufacturing or distribution businesses advantageous
• AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA preferred but not essential

• Paying between £35k and £40k full time equivalent
• Part‑time role – 30 hours per week
