Service Advisor

We are currently seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join a well-established independent garage in Basildon, Essex. Our client operates a busy, customer-focused service department and is looking for a professional individual who can deliver outstanding customer service while efficiently managing workshop operations.

Competitive basic salary of approximately £35,000, negotiable depending on experience
Achievable OTE of up to £38,000 with performance-based bonuses
Monday to Friday working pattern, 8am to 6pm
Saturday mornings (8.30am - 1pm) on a rota basis

Duties of the Service Advisor Role:

Manage customer service enquiries, acting as the primary contact throughout the service experience
Book in vehicles accurately, recording customer requirements and scheduling jobs for the workshop
Provide regular updates to customers on progress, timelines, and recommended additional work
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote repeat business and referrals
Ensure all documentation and work orders are completed correctly and in line with dealership standards
Support the effective scheduling and communication within the service department
Liaise with technicians and management to ensure smooth workshop operations
Promote additional revenue opportunities through professional upselling and recommendations

Requirements of the Service Advisor Role:

Proven experience as a Service Advisor within a franchised dealership, independent garage, or similar workshop environment
Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage client expectations effectively
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
Clear communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with technicians and management
Ability to upsell or recommend additional services professionally
Relevant experience in service administration or customer-facing roles within the motor trade
