Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst

Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary/Benefits: £25k - £32k + Training & Benefits

A UKAS accredited Laboratory is recruiting for a detail-focused Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their team. The perfect candidate will hold the BOHS P401 and must be able to demonstrate a strong technical ability. Applicants must be based within a commutable distance to the laboratory and will have periods of working both independently and within a team. Our client is well‑known within the industry and has great training and progression opportunities for the successful candidate.

• Proven experience working as an Asbestos Lab Analyst
• Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification
• Strong knowledge of UKAS and HSG guidelines
• Excellent organisational skills
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skill level
• A detail‑oriented individual

• Receiving samples into the lab for analysis, logging and storing safely
• Using PLM and stereo‑microscopy methods to establish the presence and type of asbestos
• Recording results on a company database
• Creating and issuing results certificates
• Participating in quality assurance checks to ensure compliance and service standards
• Maintaining the functionality of laboratory equipment
• Working to set personal targets
