Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistant - Specialist School

Location: Wickford, Essex

Employment type: Initial long-term contract with potential permanent for suitable candidate.

Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.

Start date: January 2026 (end of academic year).

• Build secure relationships with children & young people.
• Understand and address the specific needs of pupils, especially those with trauma.
• Support pupils with social and emotional needs.
• Deliver one‑to‑one support to pupils.

• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one.
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management skills.
• Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
• Desirable experience: care work, PRU, SEMH experience.
