Overview

Tutor - Basildon. Alternative Provision setting for students with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health).

Alternative Education. 88 pupils across 2 sites – Basildon and Romford. Subjects include SEMH, ADHD, ODD. Tutor roles include small group teaching with opportunities for Maths, English, Health and Social Care, Child Development. Tutors are required for multiple subjects; teaching up to GCSE and BTEC level.

• Provide small-group instruction across Basildon and Romford sites.
• Deliver lessons up to GCSE and BTEC levels in Maths, English, Health and Social Care, Child Development/Childcare where applicable.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to support mentoring, personal development and work experience opportunities for pupils.
• Work within an Alternative Provision school catering to students in Years 9, 10 and 11 who have not coped with or have been excluded from mainstream school and may display challenging behaviours.
• Be available to work a full-time timetable (Monday – Friday, school hours) and travel between both sites as required.
• Maintain a clear and valid DBS check as a condition of employment.

• Experience or passion for working with disengaged young people.
• Willingness to teach one or more of the following subjects:
  Maths, Science, Health and Social Care, Childcare/Child Development.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and drive between Basildon and Romford locations is preferred.
