We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Provision Lead / Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Basildon from September. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the school's Autism Support Centre, providing high-quality support for approximately eight pupils across Years 1–6 with autism and additional special educational needs.

Working within a nurturing and inclusive environment, you will play a key role in ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential.

  • Lead the day-to-day provision within the Autism Support Centre.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning and support for pupils with autism and additional SEN.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and day-to-day direction to Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school staff, parents, the Local Authority and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest standard of support.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and other relevant documentation.
  • Promote a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment that enables pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Significant experience working with children with autism and complex special educational needs.
  • A strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience leading or coordinating SEN provision and managing Learning Support Assistants.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • A nurturing, resilient and collaborative approach to supporting pupils and colleagues.
  • MPS/UPS (dependent on experience).
  • SEN Allowance in line with the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD), typically ranging from £2,679 to £5,285 per annum
    , depending on the responsibilities of the role and the successful candidate's experience.
