Lecturer, Public Services – Southend Campus, Full Time

Have you spent years serving in the Police, Fire Service, Prison Service, Armed Forces, or another public service role? Or a career in sport, fitness, coaching or personal training? We are looking for a passionate, experienced individual to inspire learners and prepare future recruits for the physical and mental demands of public service roles.

• Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across police, fire, prison and armed forces programmes.
• Use your fitness, coaching and operational experience to prepare learners for real‑world careers.
• Support learners’ progress, attendance and achievement; deliver engaging, inclusive learning environments.

• Qualified to teach in the relevant field; formal teaching qualification not required but will be supported.
• Strong communication, leadership and mentorship skills.
• Experience in a public service or fitness industry.

Lecturer, Part‑Time – Travel and Tourism, Thurrock Campus

• Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment, tailoring techniques and materials to learner needs.
• Support positive behaviour, attendance and learner welfare.

• Hold Level 2 & 3 qualifications in crew/aviation.
• Minimum of 3 years industry experience.

Deliver teaching across Level 1 and Level 2 electrical programmes, including theory and practical skills.

• Recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (Level 2 or above).
• Industry experience as an electrician.

• Deliver engaging learning and assessment; act as personal tutor.
• Support curriculum development; maintain learner data and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to course leadership and quality processes.

• Strong industry experience in plumbing or building services.
• Level 3 qualification in renewable or related technologies (or willingness to achieve).

Lecturer, Modern Methods of Construction – South Essex College

Lead the development and delivery of Level 4 & 5 MMC provision and the T Level in Design, Surveying & Planning.

• Embed BIM, off‑site construction, retrofit, and sustainability practices.
• Deliver immersive, hands‑on learning experiences in the Clean Energy Centre.
• Engage with employers to align curriculum with industry needs.

• Industry experience in construction, MMC or built environment.
• Knowledge of digital design (BIM) and sustainable building practices.
• Teaching experience or willingness to gain a qualification.

Lecturer, Beauty – Thurrock Campus, Full Time

Deliver practical and theory beauty sessions for Levels 1–3 and above.

• Carry out valid assessments; provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progress records; promote health and safety.
