This is a permanent position at a thriving secondary academy in South Essex, proud of its inclusive culture and strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. Recognised as a Music Mark School after its 2023 Ofsted inspection, the academy offers outstanding performing arts facilities, including two dedicated music classrooms, two rehearsal rooms and a dedicated drama studio.
The role will deliver an ambitious Key Stage 3 Performing Arts curriculum consisting of approximately 80% Music and 20% Drama, while supporting the continued growth of GCSE Music. The successful Performing Arts Teacher will develop students' practical musicianship through composition, performance, keyboard, ukulele, notation and music literacy, and contribute to the academy's extensive enrichment programme, including choir, school band, brass band, music summer school and community performances.
Qualifications- QTS with a Music or Performing Arts specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
- Experience teaching Music across Key Stage 3, with the ability to contribute to Drama delivery
- Strong practical musicianship with the ability to teach composition, performance, notation and music literacy
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for developing students through both curricular and extracurricular opportunities
