We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical MEP Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for the technical delivery and coordination of mechanical building services across a range of projects.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in mechanical MEP systems, excellent technical knowledge and the ability to lead projects from design and coordination through installation, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage mechanical MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and coordinate mechanical designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
- Oversee HVAC, heating, ventilation, chilled water, domestic water and public health systems.
- Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
- Monitor programme, quality, technical compliance and installation standards.
- Attend design, coordination and progress meetings with clients, consultants and project teams.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and design clashes.
- Support procurement and review subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Assist with variations, valuations, cost control and commercial matters.
- Ensure works comply with relevant UK regulations, British Standards, CIBSE guidance and project specifications.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
- Provide technical leadership and support to junior engineers and site teams.
- Proven experience in a Senior Mechanical MEP / Building Services role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and HVAC systems.
- Experience working on commercial construction or MEP projects.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant British Standards.
- Experience coordinating with other MEP and construction disciplines.
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, programmes and technical challenges.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or building services qualification is desirable.
