Finance Business Partner – Underfloor Heating Store (Basildon, England)

Overview: Join a fast‑paced, high‑growth retailer backed by a leading Private Equity firm. This role offers a first step into management, providing exposure to the performance‑driven world of PE while driving profitability and growth within our underfloor heating business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead profitability analysis across all departments, identifying cost‑saving and revenue‑optimisation opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate commercial opportunities – pricing strategies, new product/market launches and operational efficiency projects.
  • Own detailed monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and long‑range planning, aligning with PE‑driven value creation objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of two Finance Analysts, fostering a high‑performance culture through coaching and performance management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in reporting, planning and analytical workflows to enhance data reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial finance or FP&A role, preferably within a high‑growth or dynamic business.
  • Proven track record of using financial data to influence operational decisions and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong business‑partnering experience.
  • Part‑qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA applicants considered.
  • Excellent Excel skills with large data sets (Google Sheets accepted).
  • Well‑organised, able to manage multiple projects independently.
  • SQL knowledge or willingness to learn SQL.
  • Experience in Retail or Manufacturing financial roles is beneficial.
