Our client is a specialist service provider based in Basildon who are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their ledger team.

As the sole Credit Controller, this role has great responsibility in ensuring timely collection of payments, reduction of aged debt, and maintenance of accurate financial records. Duties include liaising with customers to resolve billing issues, reconciling accounts, and supporting the finance team in maintaining strong cash flow and healthy customer relationships.

• Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding overdue payments.
• Investigate and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activity in the accounting system.
• Review credit limits, assess customer creditworthiness, and make recommendations for credit approvals.
• Produce regular reports on aged debt, cash collection performance, and account status.
• Assist in month‑end closing processes and account reconciliations.
• Escalate problematic accounts or disputes to management as needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of credit control procedures and systems.

• At least 2 years experience as a Credit Controller
