We are looking for a motivated and solutions-focused Community Safety Officer to join our highly regarded Community Safety Team at an exciting time of development and change.

This is an unique opportunity to help shape the borough's response to anti-social behaviour and community safety issues, working alongside key partners including Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue Service and local voluntary organisations.

In this role, you will play a vital part in reducing anti-social behaviour, strengthening community confidence, and ensuring residents feel safe within their neighbourhoods.

You will use problem-solving approaches to address complex community issues and deliver meaningful outcomes for some of our most vulnerable residents.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Leading and coordinating Anti-Social Behaviour Case Reviews
  • Managing anti-social behaviour cases and maintaining accurate case records in line with legislation, policy, and procedure
  • Acting as the lead officer for the Borough-wide Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)
  • Identifying and addressing community safety issues through intelligence-led problem solving
  • Building strong relationships with police, housing providers, voluntary organisations, and other partners
  • Developing and delivering initiatives to tackle anti-social behaviour, hate crime, Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), and wider community safety concerns
  • Representing the council at partnership meetings and community forums
About you:

You might be working in community safety, housing, policing, youth work, education, safeguarding, or another related field and be looking for your next challenge.

You’ll be:

  • Comfortable managing sensitive and complex cases
  • An effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
