An exciting opportunity have arisen for an enthusiastic Children's Occupational therapist to further develop their skills. The post is located in the Basildon Integrated therapies team, and is part of the well-established specialist Children’s OT team covering the South West Essex area.
The post holder/s will demonstrate a working knowledge of the main treatment approaches, research and best evidence based practice in children’s OT. They will be motivated to develop their own learning and to contribute to service development and the training and development of colleagues and students. The successful applicants will thrive on working as part of a team and will demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The Children’s OT service is a large and supportive professional team committed to providing excellent opportunities for clinical development and continuous learning.
- To be responsible for managing allocated caseload independently, showing ability to prioritise appropriately.
- Deliver specialist OT to children with Neurodevelopmental conditions and Physical Conditions aged 0-19 in the Brentwood or Basildon areas.
- To work collaboratively with family/carers, colleagues and all agencies involved in the child's care, in order to provide the highest level of care and safeguarding.
- To access clinical professional development opportunities relevant to learning needs and clinical specialism.
- To contribute to service development including audit, training and development of colleagues and students.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a maximum payment of £2,198 per annum, pro rata for part time).
