If so, we would love to hear from you--our Neonatal Unit is currently seeking a motivated Band 6 Nurse to join our dedicated team. Our unit provides high-quality care for newborns requiring specialist support, including those born prematurely or with complex medical needs.
As a Band 6 Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective, and family‑centred care. You will work closely with senior sisters, a multidisciplinary team, support junior staff, coordinate care and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. - Provide expert nursing care to neonates requiring special care, including respiratory support, feeding support, and monitoring of vital signs.
- Attend the labour ward and operating theatre for crash calls or when babies require admission to the neonatal unit.
- Act as shift in‑charge when allocated.
- Lead clinical decision‑making and contribute to multidisciplinary care planning.
- Administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and perform neonatal resuscitation when required.
- Support education and development of Band 5 nurses, student nurses, and healthcare assistants.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with paediatricians, midwives, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Uphold infection control, safeguarding, and patient safety protocols.
