This role is predominantly focused on ocean imports (approximately 95%), managing shipments primarily from China, India and South Asia.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless, efficient service throughout the entire process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the complete import process from booking through to final delivery.
  • Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents and partners.
  • Creating and managing jobs on the internal operating system.
  • Liaising with customers to obtain all required shipping documentation.
  • Preparing documentation for customs clearance.
  • Coordinating deliveries with transport providers.
  • Communicating with customers, agents and suppliers throughout each shipment.
  • Raising invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all shipments are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a freight forwarding operations environment.
  • Previous experience handling ocean import shipments from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using the CDS customs system.
  • The ability to complete customs entries.
