Location:

Salary: £40,000
Working Hours:
Monday–Friday, split shift
Shift Pattern:
Week 1: 6:00am–3:00pm | Week 2: 1:00pm–10:00pm
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Fabric Engineer to join a professional Building Services team based in Basildon.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across a commercial building environment, ensuring facilities are maintained to a high standard and issues are resolved efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the building.
* Undertake general fabric and building maintenance works.
* Carry out repairs to doors, locks, ironmongery, walls, ceilings, flooring and other building fabric.
* Complete basic plumbing and carpentry repairs where required.
* Respond to maintenance requests and attend breakdowns in a timely manner.
* Identify defects and report any issues requiring specialist attention.
* Assist with general building services and facilities maintenance.
* Work alongside electrical and mechanical engineers to support the wider engineering team.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job sheets.
* Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant health & safety procedures.
* Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
* Liaise with the Facilities Management team and building occupants where required.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a commercial facilities management or building services environment and have a strong understanding of general building fabric maintenance.
You should be practical, reliable and confident working independently, while also being able to work effectively as part of a wider engineering team.
Requirements
* Previous experience in Facilities Management, Building Services or a similar environment.
* Strong fabric/building maintenance background.
* Good practical problem-solving skills.
* Ability to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
* Full UK driving licence desirable.
