The Role:

• Provide strategic direction to Chief Executive's office
• Lead Committee, Civic and Member Support functions
• Manage complex political relationships
• Ensure governance compliance
• Direct high-level stakeholder communications
• Oversee democratic processes

Required:

• Extensive local authority/public sector experience
• Expert knowledge of local authority governance
• Strong political acumen
• Experience in senior-level report writing

Additional Information:

• Evening meetings attendance required
• Largest economy in Thames Estuary outside London
• Key role in shaping local governance
