Packing Line Operator - Permanent (40 hours per week), Based Basildon

Join our fast-paced production team as a Packing Line Operator, where you'll run automated equipment to meet daily targets and ensure products meet our high standards. You'll follow V.S.O.Ps precisely and play a key role in improving performance by providing feedback to specialists and engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an amazing team at our state-of-the-art Roastery in Basildon.

This role is contracted for 40 hours per week, and you must be able to commit to the required shift pattern.

What you’ll do
  • Operate and manage automated packaging machinery to meet daily production plans and ensure products meet Costas quality standards.
  • Adhere to V.S.O.Ps for equipment use, product specifications, and cleaning routinesensuring quality and consistency first time, every time.
  • Perform regular quality checks and maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and BRC Global Standards.
  • Manage stock movement and Kanban materials, ensuring smooth flow of packaging materials throughout production.
  • Keep work areas clean and organised following 5S principles and scheduled cleaning routines.
  • Collaborate with Master Roasters for production release and participate in training to develop skills and support continuous improvement.
Who you are
  • Experience in a production or food preparation environment is essential.
  • Basic PC skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and email.
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene, health & safety, and fire evacuation procedures (desirable).
  • Ability to learn quickly with an interest in packaging machinery, equipment, and related software (desirable).

Location Full time based at our Basildon Roastery. Please note that this role will be 40 hours per week with the occasional weekend shift working. Mon to Fri working, Early 07 : 00am to 16 : 00pm and Late 09 : 00am to 18 : 00pm
