Overview

MERITUS are recruiting for a CNC Turner Setter Operator to join a precision manufacturing client in a permanent role. The role involves setting and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality, precision components for aerospace, defence and commercial engineering programmes. You will work with Doosan and Haas CNC lathes, contribute to production, quality standards and on-time delivery of engineering projects.

Responsibilities
  • Set and operate Doosan and Haas CNC lathes (e.g., Doosan 4100L, Doosan 4100, Haas ST15Y driven tool lathes) to produce components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Set chucks, fixtures and tooling according to approved setting instructions; monitor tooling wear and ensure tooling remains suitable for production.
  • Produce precision-machined components to engineering drawing specifications and check components at the machine to ensure compliance with drawings and quality requirements.
  • Visually inspect surface finish to confirm quality standards are met.
  • Monitor production progress to meet agreed production targets and manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain quality control by inspecting components during production and ensuring continued conformance to specifications.
  • Support production requirements by delivering accurate machining and maintaining consistent component quality.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator, with demonstrated ability to set and run Doosan and Haas CNC lathes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to set fixtures, chucks and tooling and monitor tool wear to maintain part quality.
  • Experience working with aerospace, defence or high-precision components is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards in a regulated environment.
